The American dream

Many people dream of having their own slice of Americana and, thanks to Customkit, Robin Verhoef  from Waiau Pa got just what he wanted. The iciing on the cake was the use of Resene paints to add lustre and longevity to his classic American-style barn and workshop.

New Zealand company Customkit has specialised in such projects for close to two decades and has a range of building options from shell-only kitset packages through to a complete design and build service. The company also has designs suitable for cottages, homes, sheds and stables as well as barns.

As owner of R&S Builders, Robin Verhoef says: “Having been a builder for many years I know a good product and design when I see it. The engineering and design is structurally solid which was a priority to me in an industry where standards can be compromised which then impacts on the end result.”

 When it came to the finishing touches, Robin chose Resene Napa for the exterior walls and Resene Ironsand for the doors.
