our sustainability story
habitat is printed on environmentally responsible paper, sourced from sustainable managed PEFC certified fibre, and compliant with the requirements of environmental management system standard ISO14001, using environmentally offset web links. The magazines are flow wrapped in oxy degradable flow wrap.
habitat’s print supplier is Webstar, which uses soy based inks. Soy ink is a kind of ink made from soybeans. As opposed to traditional petroleum-based ink, soy-based ink is more environmentally friendly, and makes it easier to recycle paper. The inks are purchased from DIC.
Webstar’s Enviro-mark certification is ‘Diamond’ status, which is the highest standard. It won the Green Ribbon Award for Waste Minimisation in 2017. See here for more details.
