Sweets for my sweet: Make your own Valentine’s Day treat pots

Give some sweets to your sweetheart with some colourful pots painted in Resene paints. Once the treats are gobbled up, use the pot for a home for your favourite houseplant.

You will need

Top tip: If you are planning to use the pot for a plant later, seal it inside and out first in Resene Aquapel & Terracotta Sealer, before you start painting.  This will help protect the pot and paint from the moisture in the plant soil.

Step 1: Paint each pot both inside and out in two coats of your chosen paint colours.  Vanessa used Vanessa used Resene Colour Me Pink, Resene Smitten and Resene Princess.

Step 2: Using a pencil, draw your design onto the pot ready for painting.

Step 3: Paint your designs onto the pots and leave to dry.

Step 4: Add your treats to the pots and give to someone special.
