
Thoughtful and simple DIY Mother’s Day gifts

Looking for a way to show your appreciation this Mother’s Day without the hassle of a big project? These two easy, heartfelt DIY gift ideas are the perfect solution. Whether you’re an avid crafter or a beginner, these simple yet personal gifts are sure to brighten mum's day and add a special touch to her celebrations.
Pot of love
If mum loves flowers and plants, then this cute face pot is a great present idea this year for Mother’s Day. You will need a terracotta pot, a small indoor plant and some of her favourite Resenetestpot colours to create a gift mum will love!
You will need:
1x terracotta pot (ours was 17cm wide and 14cm tall)
1x terracotta saucer (ours was 13cm wide)
Paintbrush
Fine paintbrush
ReseneAquapel and Terracotta Sealer
Resenetestpots in your chosen colours. We used Resene Dancing Girl, Resene Fog and Resene Biloba Flower
Step 1: Seal your pot inside and out with ReseneAquapel and Terracotta Sealer. Once dry, paint your terracotta pot in one of your chosen Resene colours. We used Resene Dancing Girl. Two coats will give the best coverage.
Step 2: Paint your terracotta saucer in another of your chosen colours. We used Resene Biloba Flower.
Step 3: Using a fine paintbrush paint the face and hair on the pot in your chosen colours. We used Resene Fog.
Step 4: Pop inyour plant and give to mum on Mother’s Day.

Mark my words
If mum is a book lover than why not whip up a couple of bookmarks for her this Mother’s Day. These wooden ones are inexpensive to make and can be personalised with wooden letters, flowers and colours. This project is also a great one for friends, grandparents and other loved ones.
You will need:
Wooden bookmarks (ours were 12cm long and 3cm wide)
Tassels (buy or make your own)
Wooden flowers
PVA or clear craft glue
Paintbrush
Resenetestpots in mum’s favourite shades. We used Resene Anise, Resene Sand, Resene Sunrise, Resene Dairy Cream and Resene Riptide
Step 1:Paint your bookmarks in your chosen colours. We used Resenetestpots in Resene Anise and Resene Sand.
Step 2:Paint your wooden flowers and letters in your chosen Resene colours. We used Resene Sunrise, Resene Dairy Cream and Resene Riptide.
Step 3: Using your craft glue, paste the wooden letters and flowers onto the bookmarks.
Step 4:Thread through the tassels onto the bookmarks.
Step 5:Give your bookmarks to mum on her special morning.
