Show your support this ANZAC Day with this DIY wreath

17 Apr 2024

Anzac Day is a national day of remembrance in New Zealand and Australia that commemorates those who served and died in war, lest we forget. If you’re looking to honour this day, as well as the soldiers and their families, try making this DIY ANZAC wreath to hang on your door and show your appreciation.

This is also a great project you can do with kids over the holidays and while you are busy painting and gluing you can talk to them about Anzac Day and remembering those who served.

You will need:

Step 1: Start by painting a whole lot of paper cupcake cases in your chosen Resene colour. Fleur used Resene Poppy. The wet paint makes the cases flatten out, but you can scrunch them up again later.

Step 2: With a darker shade, paint a messy circle in the middle of each cupcake case. Fleur used Resene All Black.

Step 3: Once the paint is dry, scrunch the cases into a flower shape and hot glue them on to the polystyrene wreath base.

Step 4: Hang your wreath on your door.

The door is painted in Resene Planter.
