How to create: Circular patterned painted pavers

17 Feb 2022

Jazz up your outdoor areas with these easy-to-create painted pavers. A much more cost-effective option to tiles, painted pavers will easily give your courtyard or patio a touch of Moroccan or European charm.

You will need

Pavers – Fleur’s were 270mm x 270mm x 40mm
Resene Concrete Primer
Paintbrush
Cardboard
Scissors
Pencil
Resene Walk-on paint or Resene Lumbersider in your choice of colours, Fleur used Resene House White and Resene Double Fuscous Grey

Step 1: Start by painting your pavers with Resene Concrete Primer.

Step 2: Once the primer is dry, apply two coats of Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene House White. Alternatively you could use Resene Walk-on paving and flooring paint.

Step 3: Cut a circle out of cardboard, Fleur’s circle was slightly smaller than the size of the pavers.   Use a pencil to trace around the circle.

Step 4: Position the pavers together and use the same cardboard circle to draw on another circle where four pavers meet.

Step 5: To finish the design, draw on a smaller circle in the middle of each paver.  Fleur traced around the outside of a mug to create her small circle.  Paint the small circle and the intersecting arcs of the big circles with Resene Double Fuscous Grey.

The tiles are painted in Resene House White and Resene Double Fuscous Grey. The purple pot in the background is painted in Resene Chetwode Blue.
