Gift a loving memory this Valentine’s Day with this DIY photo board

Instead of framing a picture of your favourite person as a gift this Valentine’s Day why not make a special hanging love board which can be hung up all year. The special heart clip means you can swap out your photos each year as you make new memories together. This would also make a great present for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day or even a birthday!

What you need:

• 1 x MDF placemat
• String or twine
• Wooden letters (or you could paint these on)
• A heart peg/clip (ours were from Look Sharp)
• Drill
• Resene testpots in colours of your choice. We used Resene Roadster and Resene Cupid.

Step 1: Paint your placemat in your chosen Resene paint colour. We used Resene Roadster. Apply two coats for best coverage.

Step 2: Paint your letters and the peg heart in your other chosen Resene paint colour. We used Resene Cupid.

Step 3: Drill two holes in the top corners and thread your string through.

Step 4: Glue your letters and heart clip onto the board.

Step 5: Add your photos and give to your favourite person.
