Four colours we’re obsessed with right now!

19 Mar 2026

The hottest paint colours right now are those that verge on neutrals with a nod to nature’s hues. They offer a sense of renewal and calm, while still injecting just the right amount of colour into our homes.

Here’s four colours that we are loving right now and how to use them in your home!

Edgewater

What it looks like:Resene Edgewater is a pale summer green, translucent and cool.

Where to use it: Greens are becoming the ‘new neutral’ and are extremely versatile in any space in your home. Light greens look great in kitchens and bedrooms and offer a gentle burst of colour on doors.

Best friend colours: Pair Edgewater with warm whites like Quarter Rice Cake, stains like Resene Colorwood Oregon and burnt oranges like Chelsea Gem:

Just Right

What it looks like:Resene Just Right is a pink toned pastel with similar toning to Resene Bone. Perfect for those wanting a neutral look with a slight lift in colour and energy.

Where to use it: Use this shade in dining rooms to create a warm, inviting atmosphere for meals and gathering. It also works well in bedrooms as a calming start and end to any day.

Best friend colours: Use Just Right with pure whites like Alabaster, gentle greens like Half Lemon Grass or earthy olive hues like Evolution:

Spanish White

What it looks like:Resene Spanish White is an amalgam of yellow oxide, orange, green and raw umber hues combined to create a well-balanced, everchanging neutral.

Where to use it: Use Spanish White in living rooms, dining rooms or bedrooms. It will look lighter with plenty of natural light, and dreamy and cocooning in spaces with less light.

Best friend colours: Pair this creamy neutral with shades like Avocado, Aubergine and warmer stains like Resene Colorwood Walnut.

Gunmetal

Where to use it: Dark blues and greens are becoming popular in home offices and bedrooms, creating a sense of calm and focus.

Best friend colours: Pair Gunmetal with crisp whites like Black White, and pops of colour such as Rose Of Sharon and dark stains like Resene Colorwood English Walnut:
