28 Apr 2022

If you have a little one keen to get the paint out and their creative juices flowing for Mother’s Day, this hand bouquet is the perfect craft. Get messy, get colourful and surprise mum with this adorable art piece.

This hand bouquet has been created with vibrant Resene paints using Resene Amulet,Resene Geronimo, Resene Rouge,Resene Kamikaze, Resene Havoc,Resene Surfie Green, Resene Grapevine,Resene Meteor, Resene Night Club, Resene Salsa,Resene Glamour Puss, Resene Matisse, Resene Crusoe and Resene Dawn Pink. Wall and mantle in Resene Half Rice Cake.

You will need:

  • Art canvas
  • Card/paper
  • Resene testpot paints in your choice of colours (Fleur used Resene Amulet, Resene Geronimo, Resene Rouge, Resene Kamikaze, Resene Havoc, Resene Surfie Green, Resene Grapevine, Resene Meteor, Resene Night Club, Resene Salsa, Resene Glamour Puss, Resene Matisse, Resene Crusoe and Resene Dawn Pink)
  • Paintbrush
  • A willing hand
  • Scissors
  • PVA glue
  • Ribbon
  • Hot glue gun
  • Pencil

How to:

Step 1: Start by painting your art canvas with Resene Amulet.  While this is drying, get started on the handprints.

Step 2: Fleur used 225gsm card for the handprints, but normal paper would work just fine as well.  Be quite liberal with the amount of paint that you apply to the hand and work quickly as the heat from a hand can dry the paint surprisingly fast.  Allow each handprint to dry.

Step 3: Use scissors to cut out the handprints and then glue them on to your canvas with some PVA glue.

Step 4: Paint on some stalks with Resene Crusoe and once this is dry, finish by hot gluing a ribbon on and adding a few spots of Resene Dawn Pink as some Gypsophila flowers around the edges.  Fleur used the end of a pencil to do this.
