Design made simple: Try out furniture in your own home with the new Target Furniture inspiAR feature

Decision paralysis - we’ve all been there. That feeling when you fall in love with a piece of furniture but you’re slightly hesitant about how it will fit into your own home. There are those burning interior design questions: Do you have enough space? Will the colour complement the wall colour?  How will your new piece work with your other furniture?

This easy-to-use feature takes only a couple of clicks to make products appear virtually in your room on your phone screen to helps you envision how they will look in your own home. This exciting feature is available on selected lounge items on the Target Furniture home page.

While augmented reality might sound complicated, it only takes three steps to bring your ideas to life: Point, Position and Admire.

To use the inspiAR augmented reality tool, simply pick up your mobile phone and follow these simple steps:

Step 1: After you have selected your furniture item from the Target Furniture website, click on the ‘View my room’ option  to open your phone’s camera. Or if you’re on your desktop computer scan your mobile phone on the QR code.

Step 2: Point your phone camera at the floor area to position the furniture in your desired spot in your room.

Top tips: Stand 2.5-3 metres (6-10 feet) away from the area you are placing the product and move the phone in a slow circular motion until the product appears. Avoid dim lighting and reflections if possible.

Step 3: Once the product has appeared in your space, use your fingers to position it in the exact spot in your room. After placing your furniture in place. You can screenshot the furniture and how it looks in your home and send to friends or family for their opinions.
