Create Christmas baubles for your mantelpiece in a rainbow of colours

08 Dec 2020

These bright and beautiful baubles add some Christmas cheer to your living room. Paint them a rainbow of colours or paint them to coordinate with your festive décor.

Resene paint colours used in this project:

Resene Pelorous, Resene Spray, Resene Funk, Resene Fuel Yellow, Resene Ecstasy, Resene Tacao, Resene Hopskotch and Resene Colour Me Pink

You will need

Step 1 Gather Christmas baubles in various sizes.

If the baubles are smooth and/or shiny, you will need to use Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer to prime them.  Use a bit of medium grit sandpaper on them first, and then apply one coat of the sealer.  If the baubles have a rough surface or are covered in glitter, use one coat of Resene Quick Dry to prime them – there’s no need to sand them first.

Step 3 Once the baubles are primed, leave them to dry before applying two coats of your chosen colours. Fleur used Resene Pelorous, Resene Spray, Resene Funk, Resene Fuel Yellow, Resene Ecstasy, Resene Tacao, Resene Hopskotch and Resene Colour Me Pink

Once dry arrange them on your mantelpiece.  They can also make a colourful addition to your Christmas table.
