Product of the Month – Resene Sonyx 101 semi-gloss

Resene Sonyx 101 semi-gloss is part of Resene’s family of waterborne coatings, which have been optimised for superior toughness, durability and adhesion, as well as generous coverage and good looks.

An Environmental Choice-approved product, Sonyx 101 offers excellent durability in high-UV environments, one of the reasons why it was specified for the recent refurbishment of the Gateways Apartments in Roseneath, Wellington, and can be further enhanced by overcoating with Resene Clearcoat UVS.

Part of the refurbishment project, designed by DLA Architects, saw the previously neutral façade given a colourful upgrade using Sonyx 101 in a variety of vibrant colours. The project was named winner of the Resene Total Colour Residential Exterior Award at the 2025 awards.

Suitable for use on a range of substrates, including block and brickwork, concrete, fibre cement, G.R.C. panels, primed galvanised steel, primed timber and solid plaster, Sonyx 101 can be applied via brush, synthetic fibre roller, speed brush or spray application.
