Product of the Month – Resene Lustacryl Kitchen and Bathroom
08 Jun 2026
In 1996, Resene launched its first waterborne enamels – Resene Lustacryl semi-gloss waterborne enamel and Resene Enamacryl gloss waterborne enamel.
It was a major breakthrough for the industry, as these new-generation products offered tough, durable, enamel-like finishes and could be used in all areas traditionally reserved for solventborne enamels – all while providing the benefits of waterborne paints, such as being non–yellowing, low odour and easy to clean up in water.
A decade later, Resene followed up with Lustacryl Kitchen & Bathroom interior semi-gloss waterborne enamel, a product that combines the benefits of its Lustacryl stablemate with the added assurance of anti-bacterial silver protection and MoulDefender.
This breakthrough product imparts enamel-style toughness to broadwall areas, allowing you to get a semi-gloss finish with added protection. It doesn’t stop there, so adaptable is Lustacryl Kitchen and Bathroom that it may also be used on joinery and trim.
As with all Resene waterborne products, Lustacryl Kitchen and Bathroom is Eco Choice Aotearoa approved. It is also Sensitive Choice approved by the National Asthma Council Australia, which oversees the programme in both Australia and New Zealand.
Sensitive Choice approved products can be easily identified through the inclusion of the blue butterfly logo, which helps consumers identify asthma and allergy-aware products.

This character-filled bathroom is a bold statement thanks to Resene Lustacryl tinted to Xanadu and Resene Lustacryl Kitchen and Bathroom tinted to Quarter Spanish White.
