What is your role at Resene and what does that involve?

My role is Senior Protective Coatings Representative. I deal mainly with blasting and coating shops, and I provide technical support for customers, engineers and architects. I help colleagues, customers, architects, engineers and construction companies with specifications and technical information on protective coatings, intumescent coatings, film thickness and measurements, it is quite a varied role.

What is one of your favourite projects using Resene products?

Working on the Viaduct Events Centre with Moller Architects, Hawkins Construction and D + H Steel. The products used on this project were Resene Armourzinc 120, Resene Armourcote 510, Resene Armourcote 220 and Resene Uracryl on the steelwork.

Another favourite was working with Moller Architects and Warren Mahoney Architects coming up with a specification that could be used in both New Zealand and Thailand, and have finished coats applied onsite for the NZICC (New Zealand Convention Centre). Also working with Fletcher Construction and WAM to develop a remedial specification for all reworks of existing fire and water damaged steelwork; an important project to protect our community buildings.

What is your biggest design or product tip?

Spend the time doing the prep work right, and the result will look great. Always use quality materials like Resene and you can’t go wrong.

What are your favourite Resene colours?

Two contrasting colours, the light shade of Resene White Pointer and the dark Resene Element.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I like to go jetski fishing and get out and spend time with family and friends.
