Meet the team – Amanda Greenslade, NSW Resene Project Services and Trade Representative

Resene celebrates 80 years of colour and innovation in 2026, becoming, in that time, New Zealand’s most trusted paint brand. What you may not know, is that 2026 also marks the 36th anniversary of Resene Paints (Australia) Ltd.

That’s right, for the last 36 years, Aussies have been claiming Resene as their own (as they are wont to do with all the successful Kiwis). The latest claimant is our own Amanda Greenslade, Resene Project Services and Trade Representative.

“My first role with Resene was in 2019, working at an Auckland ColorShop. From there, I worked my way up into an Architectural Specifier Representative role, mainly because I enjoy helping people and also because I became very interested in the technical side of paint. Currently, I am Project Services and Trade Representative for NSW, having recently made the move from Auckland to Sydney.

“I’m really enjoying the new role. We’re a small team in NSW, so it’s a cradle-to-grave approach for the projects we are involved in, which I’m loving because it means I get to do a bit of everything. I help with specification support a lot, going to site and giving the best recommendation for the different substrates, I also help with colour support, advice, samples, supply, and training – whatever is needed, I’ll help.”

Amanda brings with her a wealth of experience gained from working with leading architectural firms on a range of notable projects.

“Back in Auckland, I worked closely with Jasmax to create a custom walnut stain for use on the battened wall panels within the theatre of the recently completed BNZ Theatre in Hamilton. What made this job special was the vertical battens in the design mimic the striations on the iconic Founders Theatre Mural artwork by renowned artist Ralph Hotere, which is now on permanent display at the theatre. It was lots of fun playing around with samples and getting involved, so it’s fantastic to see the project finished and winning plenty of awards.”

When meeting with a client to discuss a new project, Amanda says it’s crucial to get across how important a great foundation is to the success of any system.

“While we are known for our incredible colours and the longevity of our topcoats, the constant innovations in our primers and sealers give peace of mind that you are getting the best possible system. There are our versatile all-rounders, such as Quick Dry and ArmourX GP Metal Primer, that are suited to a range of surfaces and substrates, but there are also our more specific products, like Smooth Surface Sealer. It is a single-pack, interior-exterior waterborne product that allows you to paint substrates that normally are too smooth for a paint system to adhere to, with minimal preparation.”

Achieving a perfect result means not skimping on the right preparation, she adds.

“Our paint is the best you can get, but if you don’t start on a clean and sound surface you’re not allowing them to shine. I have used Moss and Mould Killer, Deep Clean, and Timber Deck Wash myself and can confirm they were super easy to use and effective.”

With more than 6000 options to choose from, is there a particular Resene colour that delights?

“I love soft pinks and greens. My favourite Resene colours are natural greens like Paddock and Rivergum and soft pinks like Paper Doll and Valentine.”
