Bring out your bricks and sticks to participate in this beloved building competition

11 Oct 2021

Calling all model citizens – it’s time to put your creativity and design skills to the test! Take some time this school holidays to enter Architecture NZ’s Model Citizens @ home competition and you could win.

After a wildly successful inaugural event in 2019, Architecture New Zealand and ArchitectureNow have pivoted their competition so participants can compete from the comforts of their own home. While teams in the previous event used supplied Lego to create their design, this edition of the competition challenges you to make your own models from Lego, ice block sticks, cardboard or any other materials you can find within your bubble to create a design for a home. It can be a home for anything: your pet, your best friend or your most prized possession. Entries are open to anyone and everyone, and kids of all ages are encouraged to get involved.

All entries go into a draw to win a pack with prizes for both children and adults, full of things to help your creative expression – plus the chance to gift a $200 Resene ColorShop voucher to a charity of your choice.

Find out more and check out some of the submissions received so far on ArchitectureNow.
