This brand new Nelson home could be all yours!

Just minutes from pristine beaches and an easy drive to magnificent national parks, this first-prize home in the Heart Foundation Home Lottery offers the perfect blend of adventure and serenity.
Based in Richmond, Nelson, this property is situated in one of New Zealand’s sunniest regions. It’s been expertly designed, built and furnished by the teams at Jennian Home Nelson Bays and Hubbers Flooring & Soft Furnishings. It features three bedrooms, a classic open-plan living, kitchen and dining area and is ready to be loved by its new owner!
“It’s always a wonderful opportunity to offer a property practically on the doorstep to one of New Zealand’s Great Walks,” says Kevin Tregunno, Lottery Programme Manager. “Richmond suits all ages and life-stages, with excellent schools, hospitality, and a vibrant community.”

The first-prize home itself is heavily inspired by its neighbouring landscapes.
Elements of the nearby coast and forests have been incorporated into its colour scheme, bringing the outdoors in. Designer Dino Spiteri, of Hubbers Flooring & Soft Furnishings, has this to say about bringing his vision to life.
What was your design brief?
The brief was to create a feeling that was unique and bespoke to the area, resulting in a calm colour palette relying on texture and pattern. I wanted to reflect the relaxed nature of what life in Richmond would feel like.

What colours did you choose?
For the exterior paint colours, I selected Resene Quarter Atmosphere for the Rockcote plaster cladding, which was a Rockcote 50mm Graphex facade system, and Half Grey Friars for the Oblique feature cladding. This softened the exterior of the home when used in conjunction with Grey Friars to the roof, aluminium joinery and front door and emphasised contrast whilst remaining in the same colour tones. The interior walls are painted with Double Black White and Double Alabaster on the ceiling, architraves and internal doors. This provided us with the calm canvas which could be elevated with furnishings.

What was your favourite aspect of the design?
I think that the architectural design of the home is brilliant. Jennian Homes Nelson Bays had obviously put a lot of thought into how this home was to be designed. It holds the section really nicely and in a way they gave me a prime canvas to deliver such a beautiful home.
In partnership with its major sponsor, Jennian Homes, the Heart Foundation Home Lottery offers the life-changing first prize of a fully furnished home seven times each year.
Lottery homes are built in lifestyle destinations throughout New Zealand and finished in Resene paints and stains.
