The teams had it cut out for them this week as they took on Nikita and Sherwen’s home. With some interesting house rules, it will all come down to finding the right balance of colour and design. You won’t want to miss this incredible before and after.

Nikita and Sherwen’s house rules:

1. Style our home like a five-star hotel
2. Upgrade our bedroom to feel like a luxurious hotel suite
3. In the lounge, think family movie nights and parents only date nights
4. Give us fifty shades of monochromatic
5. Let there be light in the dark and dreary spaces of the house 

How did the teams do?

Will one team’s ‘bonus zone’ pay off and earn them points? You’ll have to watch to see the reaction to Resene Wallpaper Collection SH34549 on the dining room walls. The walls in the kitchen are painted in Resene Rice Cake and ceiling in Resene Ceiling Paint White.

For the lounge, this team chose a warm toasty brown, Resene Double Napa, for the walls, which give the space an inviting and comfy feel, especially with the added fireplace. The ceiling is painted in Resene Ceiling Paint White.

The hallway met the brief for a luxury hotel feel with clean lines, texture and luxury lighting. This team used Resene Wallpaper Collection 32090 on the top half of the walls and Resene Half Napa on the panelling. The ceiling is painted in Resene Ceiling Paint White.

A stunning feature headboard was added to the master bedroom, with a lush, warm beige, Resene Truffle on walls. The ceiling and trims are painted in Resene Eighth Truffle.

Nikita and Sherwen’s daughter got her dream room, with her very own stage to perform for the family. Her room is painted in Resene Rice Cake with feature designs in Resene Contented. The ceiling is painted in Resene Ceiling Paint White.

The lovely nursery for Nikita and Sherwen’s son got a unique design with colour blocked walls painted in Resene Soul, Resene Dusty Road and Resene Bonanza. The ceiling is painted in Resene Rice Cake.

The rear wall of the WC is painted in Resene Bunting, with surrounding walls and ceiling in Resene Alabaster.

You’ll have to watch to see why the teams chose their designs, and see them deliver their zones for judging, as well as watch Nikita and Sherwen view their transformed home for the first time. What will their reaction be?
