See inside Blum’s sharp new Christchurch showroom

11 Nov 2020

Austrian manufacturer Blum’s latest New Zealand outpost is a colossal feat: a brand-new architecturally designed building that’s both sustainable and high tech. It’s also the ultimate showroom, complete with 1:1 scale kitchens so you can test drive their range of kitchen and cabinetry products – including hinge systems, lift systems and living space cabinetry – first-hand.

“The showroom is a splendid double height, light-filled space that visually connects with the outside and features a cantilevered stair clad in blue steel,” says Simon Laurie, senior associate at Warren and Mahoney Architects, Christchurch, who designed the building. “Architecturally, the design expresses a streamlined, finely tuned and engineered outcome closely aligned with the precision of products the building will deliver.”

“The architectural design matches our heirloom, but we also want to be relevant in the current business climate, supporting local businesses by hosting events, industry meetings, seminars and training workshops for architects, designers and cabinet makers,” says Michael Hawkins, managing director of Blum New Zealand on the exciting expansion.

See Blum’s new Christchurch showroom at 16 Avenger Crescent in Wigram. If you’re in Auckland, you can see their product range at 621 Rosebank Road in Avondale.
