Resene voted most trusted brand for paints 2026

The results of the 2026 Most Trusted Brands survey have been announced, offering valuable insight into what Kiwis look for in brands today. The key take aways for consumer trust seem to remain in genuine value-for-money, innovation and, most importantly, authenticity. 

As Resene celebrates its 80th anniversary this year, they are also delighted to celebrate being the winner in the Most Trusted Brands 2026 paints category, a title which they have held since 2012! 

For generations of New Zealand homeowners, builders and professional painters, Resene has become a trusted part of the country’s building landscape. That trust is built not only on colour choice but on performance. For exteriors in particular, New Zealand has some of the highest UV levels in the world, along with salt air, wind and changing weather conditions, so paint must withstand an environment far more demanding than the climates of most of the world. And as for interiors, the depth of colour and finish options speak for themselves.

Now in its 27th year, the Trusted Brands survey is conducted by an independent market research firm. At its core, Trusted Brands is the people’s award. It captures authentic, real-world feedback on the brands that consistently deliver on their promises.
