Napier’s sun, sea, and stunning architecture make the chance to win this Heart Foundation Lottery home unmissable

The Heart Foundation’s lottery is not only a chance to win a brand new home decorated in Resene in sought after locations, it’s a chance to win a brand new start. World-renowned for its Art Deco and Spanish Mission style architecture and temperate climate, Napier promises a lavishly laid-back lifestyle for those seeking R&R.

The exterior of the home is sophisticated and clean with Resene Quarter Grey Friars on the weatherboard cladding teamed with Resene Grey Friars on the doors and roof.

In Lottery No. 135, ticket buyers will have a chance to win a fully-furnished, three-bedroom home, which has been expertly designed and finished with a range of Resene paints.

Lottery Operations Manager, Liz Halpin was pleased to have this great opportunity to return to Napier with the Heart Foundation’s major partner, Jennian Homes, for this build.

Designer Tracey used Resene Half Innocence for the main open-plan living area walls. She used Resene Half Delta on the walls and Resene Eighth Delta on the trims across the rest of the home.

“We were able to build this home near the coast and close to town, in the suburb of Awatoto,” says Liz. “It was a good chance to diversify our Lottery home locations, giving our ticket buyers the chance to win something a little different.”

There’s plenty on offer for the winners of this home, with an array of art galleries, theatres, sports clubs and outdoor pursuits right at its doorstep. “Napier is particularly appealing because it’s well-serviced, with good schools and plenty of retail precincts, but offers the relaxed lifestyle that the Lottery homes are often known for.”

Resene Half Delta on the walls is soft and soothing in the master bedroom, and is complemented by Resene Eighth Delta on the trims and ceiling.

For this beautiful home, the Heart Foundation was pleased to once again be working with designer Tracey Beaumont Orr of Décor Design. “With this home, I wanted to create a fresh, modern vibe, with lots of colour. Something fitting of a decorated city such as Napier,” says Tracey.

“For the exterior, I chose to go with Resene Quarter Grey Friars on the weatherboard cladding. This classic, cool, blue-toned grey pairs nicely with the light colour of the brick features. Then for added contrast, I chose Grey Friars for the doors and roof.”

Resene Half Delta on the walls keeps things modern in the bathroom, and is paired with Resene Eighth Delta on the trims and ceiling.

For the interior, she wanted to use some colour while keeping things neutral. “I went with Resene Half Innocence for the main open-plan living area, which ties in beautifully with the dark blue living suite. Throughout the rest of the house, I used Resene Half Delta on the walls and Resene Eighth Delta on the trims.”

A modern outdoor space to enjoy Napier’s sun. Walls in Resene Grey Friars.

I loved the lounge cushions in particular and used these as a starting point for my design. These brightly coloured cushions gave me the colour inspiration for both the interior and exterior of the home. It gave me the opportunity to create a lovely cosy, moody feel using the deep turquoise greens, duck egg blue and other neutral tones and textures.”

The Heart Foundation Lottery offers the life-changing first prize of a fully-furnished Jennian home six times each year. Lottery homes are built in holiday destinations throughout New Zealand and finished in Resene paints and stains.

You can support the Heart Foundation Lottery by purchasing tickets at heartlottery.org.nz. Funds raised from the Lottery go towards life-saving heart research and heart disease prevention programmes, keeping New Zealand families together for longer.
