Help beautify your local area with Keep New Zealand Beautiful's Clean Up Week

14 Oct 2021

With New Zealand’s largest clean up event just two weeks away, now is the time to prepare your gardening gloves, buckets and reusable clean up kits for a sustainable clean up in your local area. Keep New Zealand Beautiful is running Clean Up Week a little differently this year, with socially distanced and size-limited events that are flexible to adapt to the specific alert level in your area.

Taking place from 25-31 October 2021, Clean Up Week encourages volunteers to get out into their neighbourhood and do their part to protect the environment by picking up litter. Last year, Clean Up Week saw 57,936 people take part with a whopping 561,979kg of litter collected.

Thanks to the generosity of EnviroWaste, Waste Management and local councils, this year registered events will be able to dispose of their litter for free at selected transfer stations until 14 November 2021, allowing for extra flexibility when registering and scheduling clean up events.
