Art Battle is the planet’s biggest live painting competition - across 60+ cities worldwide. And now it’s here in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland - as the artists are battling their way through the heats for the chance of competing at the grand final at Eden Park 2024!

12 artists, 3 rounds, 1 champion. Cast your vote - the audience decides who goes through! As the night unfolds you can also snag a one-of-a-kind masterpiece, as every artwork created goes up for auction. Be a part of the energy at this high-speed showdown.

Plus a Spotlight artist who will work on a large canvas through the duration of the evening.

New Zealand’s Art Battle producer Liam Downes says “every Art Battle is high energy and super creative, with something for everyone. With 12 artists competing in one space there is nothing else like it.” Liam knows the pressure and the fun of Art Battle first hand, as a fellow artist he was invited to compete in a 2022 event - and loved it so much he made it a priority to bring the world series to New Zealand. “First and foremost it is a platform and opportunity for our creative community. Combining our exceptional pool of talent with 2 stand out venues has to be a recipe for a memorable night out. The heats are at the water front’s Wynyard Pavilion, an incredible space already renown for bringing the fun. And for the artists, the goal of reaching the grand final at Eden Park in March 2024 is reward in itself, a genuinely exciting finale. I am extremely grateful too for Resene’s on-going commitment to supporting the arts - and for our Art Battle artists to be recognised on a global level. You've gotta be in to win!" 

Art Battle is an opportunity for local artists to express their unique talents - inspiring a nation - and representing NZ on the world stage at the Art Battle world series. The grand final is scheduled for March next year at Eden Park. 60+ cities currently compete worldwide. The first heat in June went down a storm, with 5 more world series heats scheduled before the showcase grand final at Eden Park in March 2024. Art Battle is the biggest competitive live painting competition in the world. It is streamed across the planet.. where both the attending audience and online viewers decide on the fate of the artists. Watch. Vote. Bid. Live!

Painters create the best work they can in a short window. 12 artists, 3 rounds, in a bid to progress to the grand final at Eden Park. The audience scan QR code on entry to vote and bid on their favourite works. The event is watched and live streamed globally. As the artists work, patrons move around the easels, being inspired by the creative process. At the end of the first 2 rounds, the audience votes democratically for their favourite artists, as they progress to a final round. They can then bid for the work in a silent auction, and take the work home that night. We also feature a spotlight artist at each event, who is on hand to engage with the audience and share tips and techniques, as they work on a larger canvas through the duration of the evening.
