Do your bit to help our planet this World Environment Day
28 May 2024
The biggest day for our environment is almost here! World Environment Day on 5 June, led by the United Nations Environment Programme, will see dozens of countries and millions of people engaging to raise awareness and influence environmental action.
This year's theme is #GenerationRestoration: “Our Land. Our Future”.
Here are some ways to get involved:
- Paint it Green. Resene’s Paint it Green campaign, running throughout June, aims to grow a brighter future with Trees That Count, an environmental charity on a mission to plant millions more native trees throughout New Zealand. Buy any green Resene testpot 60 mL in June from a Resene owned ColorShop (NZ) and Resene will donate $1 to Trees That Count. Read more about Paint it Green and Resene here.
- Paint a little part of New Zealand beautiful by designing a mural with an environmental message for a wall in your community, with the Keep New Zealand Beautiful and Resene Natural Mural Competition.
- Nominate someone who is making a difference in your community for KNZB’s monthly Tidy Kiwi Volunteer of the Month Award, they'll be in the draw to win some great merchandise and a Resene paint voucher for their efforts!
- Involve yourself in a local clean up. You can find events on the KNZB website or on your local Keep New Zealand Beautiful branch social media.
