Bay of Plenty brilliance: Win a brand-new home in Pāpāmoa

25 Mar 2026

It’s easy to feel like every day is a holiday in a place like Pāpāmoa – especially when living just five minutes from the beach! Pair this with rolling pastures and lush forest walks; it’s an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise. You could win a fabulous four-bedroom home here for as little as $15.

“Pāpāmoa has long been a popular location in the Heart Foundation Home Lottery,” says Programme Lead, Kevin Tregunno. “It makes sense as to why. It’s close enough to enjoy the metropolitan convenience of Tauranga, without sacrificing the serenity of country living. Quiet, yet abundant, and ideal for families in any stage of life.”

Teaming up with the Heart Foundation, and the team at Jennian Homes Tauranga & Western Bay of Plenty, was Olivia Ellis of Yellowfox, who brought this property to life using Resene paints and finishes. Here’s what she has to say about the project.

What was your design brief?

The brief was to create an aesthetic that would appeal to a broad market, while still incorporating warmth and unique design elements. The goal was to strike a balance between timeless appeal and character – introducing textures, tones, and detailing.

What colours did you choose?

This home presents a striking modern urban aesthetic, where a sophisticated palette and carefully layered textures define both the exterior and interior. The façade combines Resene Friar Grey weatherboard cladding with Euro Largo Ceres bricks and accents of Double Black White on the soffits and wing walls.

Inside, walls are painted in Black White – a soft, chalky white that offers a crisp yet gentle backdrop – complemented by the moody, earthy green of Raptor, featured in the master bedroom to evoke a grounded, restful atmosphere.

A standout feature is the kitchen island, where front panelling in Stack offers a refined grey contrast that pairs beautifully with the light timber flooring.

What was your favourite aspect of the design?

The warmth and texture this home embodies. The exterior strikes a balance between visual interest and a clean, contemporary feel, which flows seamlessly into the interior. Inside, the home feels welcoming and layered, with thoughtful detailing – panelling, tile selections, timber accents, and curated paint choices all adding depth and personality.
