Today might just be Resene’s favourite day of the year – it’s International Colour Day! International Colour Day was created to celebrate all things colour, and who loves colour more than Resene? We thought we would bring you some of the most colourful design ideas we could find to help you brighten any space in your home.

You might have a large open-plan living area with limited full-wall space. Why not find a small section of that wall and go for it?

Add some colour through a painted feature wall like this one. It might look tricky, but if you’re not doing straight lines, you can make the odd mistake and nobody will ever know. Sure, this one was painted by all-round creative person, stylist Megan Harrison-Turner but even she surprised herself with how easy it was to transform a plain wall into something so gorgeous and dramatic. First, she found an inspirational photograph online, then sketched the outline of the hills in pencil, then added the paint using Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen. The most difficult part was choosing the colours, but you can easily create a colour palette by loading a favourite photo into the Resene Colour Palette Generator, www.resene.com/palettegenerator.
