Stunning in stripes

16 Nov 2017

For the latest HOMEmade makeover, the team has turned a drab lounge into a showstopper, with stunning striped wallpaper and fresh Resene neutrals.

Taking the room out of the 70s and into the modern age, Melissa and team hung new curtains and wallpaper, and updated the light fittings and furniture.

Before: The lounge was stuck in the 70s, with retro fittings and a tired colour scheme.

After: The room has been freshened up with feature striped wallpaper from the Resene Wallpaper Collection (code 1790-50), available from Resene ColorShops. The ceiling and trims have been painted in Resene Black White. The curtains have also been replaced with Resene Meander Stone Voile, from the Resene Curtain Collection.

After: On the rest of the walls, they’ve used wallpaper from the Resene Wallpaper Collection (code 47506), available from Resene ColorShops. The ceiling and trims are painted in Resene Black White.

Dan quickly set about transforming the front garden into a nice cottage garden, planting plants to attract bees and butterflies, disguising muddy grass with pebbles and building a pergola to define the outdoor space.

He also used Tui Sheep Pellets, Tui Rose & Shrub Mix, and Seasol to help the garden grow to its full potential.
