Playhouses with purpose

The teams have been announced and construction is underway for this year's Playhouse Challenge, which sees three building and architectural teams from Canterbury compete to win Best Architectural Playhouse, People’s Choice and Kid’s Choice awards.

The competition is the primary fundraiser for two Christchurch charities, Birthright Canterbury Trust and Tenant’s Protection Association (Christchurch). These charities focus on children in single parent families and the housing needs of Canterbury people, so the Playhouse Challenge is a perfect fit for raising awareness of them.

The playhouses finished in Resene paints and colours will be on display at The Star Home and Leisure Show from 30 June-2 July at the Horncastle Arena. They will be sold via auction with the proceeds being split between the charities, to help them continue their work with Canterbury families.
