Mix don't match

13 Apr 2016

When General Eclectic launched its current autumn range of  homewares and furniture, it used Resene coloured backdrops to showcase the pieces. The people at General Eclectic reckon that to give you home personality, you should mix, and not do the matchy matchy thing. Add tonnes of colour, and mix in vintage and industrial pieces – that’s their motto.

The Tribeca range is rich in metallics, textures and has hints of New York City loft cool. The dark grey Resene Quarter Foundry wall was an easy choice to off-set and contrast with the warm coppers and Scandi-look grey, white and black accessories.

Bright yellow may be fine for summer and if it’s still your favourite kind of colour, muddy it up for winter to get a gentle mustard. These General Eclectic cushions show the way, matched in with classic black and white, and paired with a wall in Resene Bittersweet.

Bring a bit of outdoors inside with house plants. And give them stylish homes in these WashPaperBag containers. The wall is in Resene Rhino, a deep stormy blue.

General Eclectic products are available at Shut the front Door stores in Auckland or online.
