Full Frontage recap: Wrap around stairs and Firth paving

29 Apr 2015

Aucklanders Mark and Linda's home is the first to star in brand new TV show Full Frontage (see here for show info), and across two episodes we saw Justin Newcombe and team transform their property to get it ready for sale.

The couple's property was in serious need of a front yard facelift – an investor's dream, the house is low maintenance, modern and recently refurbished, but was burdened with a tired front garden built in the 1970s.

It included a falling down ponga fence, uninviting street entrance and dodgy front door steps, and Justin had plenty of work to do to give this home real street appeal.

Two major projects were undertaken: a set of timber wrap around steps leading to the couple's new deck, and a relaid path with Firth paving.

The steps and timber edges were finished in Resene Woodsman, the wall in Resene Lumbersider Duck Egg Blue and the concrete steps in Resene Non-Skid Deck & Path.

Click here for a step-by-step guide to making your own wrap around steps and laying down Firth paving, plus materials and Resene products used for each project in these episodes.

Next week The Full Frontage team are at Lorraine’s Block House Bay property, in West Auckland.

This stunning home is being let down by a lack of privacy, a concrete patio that’s seen better days and plants and trees that are reducing the usable space – you don’t want to miss the transformation.

Watch Full Frontage every Tuesday, 7.30pm on Choice TV. View any missed episodes at www.choicetv.co.nz/on-demand.
