Recycle your cellphone

16 May 2017

If you've got a cellphone or two lying around and are not sure how to recycle them, remember to bring them into your local Resene ColorShop.

Resene is collecting any unwanted cellphones as part of the Re:Mobile programme – which sees collected phones being recorded, graded and stored before being shipped to countries such as Hong Kong, China or Eastern Europe.

Here they are checked, reprogrammed, repackaged and sold. This has the added benefit of supporting emerging economies that are in desperate need of this technology.

Since the Re:Mobile programme has started, more than $2.5 million has been raised for the Starship Foundation. Now Re:Mobile is supporting Sustainable Coastlines through its recycling programme.

You can help the programme by dropping your unwanted cellphones into any Resene owned ColorShop.
