Saving our kiwis

October is Save Kiwi Month, a national fundraising campaign to raise funds to protect our national bird from extinction.

Only 70,000 kiwi remain, of which we are losing 2% every year – this equals to an incredible 27 kiwi per week. Kiwis for Kiwi warn that if New Zealand doesn’t accelerate the number of kiwi under protection, they could disappear from the mainland in our lifetime.
