Readers show their animal side

06 Jun 2017

You'll find this wonderful Snoopy letter box at the end of Robert Raines' driveway in Ohaupo – Robert created it himself, made using testpots in Resene Bright Red, Resene White and Resene Black, with Resene Pont Cabbage for the post.

He swaps themed Snoopys out during the year, including at Christmas. We're sure they bring a smile to each passerby.

Speaking of animal-themed projects, Vanessa Evans of the Auckland Resene team decided to spruce up a rocking horse that has been in the family for three generations, to gift to her niece.

Vanessa started by sanding back the rusty frame before applying Resene GP Metal Primer. It was finished in Resene Super Gloss Enamel tinted to Resene Black.

Next, Vanessa sanded the whole horse and primed it with Resene Quick Dry. She went with a traditional colour palette, painting the horse in Resene Permanent Green, Resene Titania and Resene Pioneer Red, and Resene Black for the hooves.

Vanessa painted the horse's hair in a mix of Resene Mission Brown, Resene Spark and Resene Bedrock. Looking this good, it's bound to stay in the family for many generations to come!
