Kaleb gets his dream, nature-inspired bedroom
07 Dec 2017
Aucklanders Jess and Courtney recently moved into their 1960s bungalow, and haven't had the time or budget to do it up.
When the HOMEmade team paid a visit, they decided to tackle their 7-year-old son Kaleb's bedroom for the makeover – a lilac room with butterfly light fittings.
Melissa and team took action, creating a spacious modern room that reflects Kaleb's love of nature, rocks and geography.
After: The walls have been painted in Resene Oslo Grey, with a customised nature-themed WallPrint from Resene.
The homeowners were also struggling to find time to spend in their garden, and were in need of an easy care backyard.
Dan from HOMEmade had the solution – a rustic rock garden filled with grasses, flaxes and ferns, using Tui Mulch & Feed, Tui Garden Mix, Tui Sheep Pellets, Seaweed Plant Tonic, Tui Garden Mix and Tui NovaTec Premium fertiliser.
He also added a statement seating area.
Planting native grasses provides low-maintenance colour and texture to your garden. Check out Tui’s easy care growing guide to achieve this outcome in your backyard here.
