The Block NZ: The Winners and House 5

18 Aug 2016

After 11 grueling weeks of renovation, Sam and Emmett emerged as the winners of this season’s The Block NZ: Girls vs Boys on TV3, selling their house for $1,610,000 at auction last Sunday. The Wellington pair earned the largest profit in The Block NZ history, at $480,000.

Emma and Courtney finished second, selling their house for $1,510,000. This year’s People Choice winners Dyls and Dylz came in third, selling their house for $1,341,000. Niki and Tiff finished fourth, selling for $1,320,000.

And in a shocking twist a week before auction night, the contestants were challenged with renovating an entire house, with each team taking on different spaces. At stake was $5000 off their auction reserve and the ability to determine the auction order, and was won by Sam and Emmett.

Here’s a look at some of the spaces from House 5.

Emma and Courtney created this striking living area with wallpaper from the Resene Textilis collection (25813), and other walls in Resene Black White.

Winners Sam and Emmett decorated the master bedroom with Resene Concrete.

Dyls and Dylz took on the bathroom of House 5, using Resene Alabaster.

Niki and Tiff’s bedroom uses a feature wall in wallpaper from the Resene Textilis collection (25816) with other walls in Resene Concrete.
