Rennee and Bryan's born-again kitchen

black and white kitchen, black cabinets, white kitchen tiles, blackboard paint, kitchen makeover

Kitchens are always popular when we feature them, and this example was no exception. Maybe it struck more of a chord with you because of the clever cost-effective way it was rescued with paint, and given not just one new look, but two. With a lot of elbow grease, a huge dollop of imagination and some old 1940s cabinets, Rennee and Bryan Lawrence created a kitchen on a ‘zero’ budget.

Pam and Allan's beachy vibe

entranceway, beach house, blue exterior, blue paint, front doorway

With the soft blues and long white sands of Mount Maunganui beach just down the road from their home, Allan and Pam decided on a restful and clean colour palette from Resene to capture that ‘beachy vibe’

Peter and Kathy's contemporary cool bungalow

stariwell, staircase, feature wall, entranceway, interior design,

Was it the cute dog in the main photograph or just the inspirational story of how this couple rebuilt after the Christchurch earthquakes left their home unsafe?

Ian and Sharon's sand and sea-toned escape

holiday home, beach house, bach, white interior, white paint, indoor-outdoor flow

Faced with rebuilding a broken-down bach at Mangawhai Heads north of Auckland, Ian and Sharon took inspiration from the spectacular view of islands, sea and sand dunes for their palette of restful Resene colours.

2 living looks: Sandra and Nicola’s designer spaces

living room, lounge, interior design, pastel teal paint

It seems that soft blue-green colour schemes have huge appeal, especially in summer, so when two designers used similar colours to update two different living spaces, you loved it.
